The Benefits of Hot Stone Massage

Winter is just around the corner, reminding us to cozy up! During this season (from January through the end of March), I’m offering hot stone massage sessions.

To do this, I use basalt stones, which are genuine volcanic stones made of pure lava. They are very smooth, have a high iron content, and retain heat for virtually the entire duration of the session.

To warm them up, I submerge the massage stones in water at a temperature between 55 and 65 degrees. The hot stones are then placed on sensitive or even painful areas of the body, such as the stomach, back, hands, feet, and forehead. The heat radiates throughout the body, allowing you to relax completely.

This massage technique, known as "stone therapy" among Native Americans, not only provides a sense of well-being and relaxation but also offers various therapeutic benefits. In particular, it helps you let go, detoxify your body, and improve blood circulation. Certain conditions and ailments, such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, insomnia, muscle pain, and stress-related disorders, can also be treated using this technique.

The session lasts between 75 and 90 minutes, during which I will use the hot stones to massage you with oils while applying light strokes and firm pressure to your body and placing hot stones along your spine, on your stomach, in the palms of your hands, between your toes, and more... Under the effect of the stones’ heat, these energy points are stimulated and released.

Before booking your session, please be aware of the following contraindications: if you have diabetes, respiratory or heart problems, or if you are pregnant, you should avoid this type of massage!

Also, if you have varicose veins, please let me know, and I will perform a leg massage using cold stones.

If you have any contraindications for hot stone massage, don’t worry! You can still enjoy the soothing and relaxing massage that I would be happy to provide for you.
